Our review of r/eroticliterature
r/eroticliterature: Reddit's big erotica community with strict topic rules
r/eroticliterature calls itself «Reddit's premier erotica community»: 382,100 members at our check on 2 October 2026. Members post their own erotic short stories as text posts, and the moderators run monthly writing contests and pick a «Writer in Residence». Every title must state the gender and age of all participating characters in square brackets, and stories also carry content tags, so you can see what a story contains before you open it.
The posting guide lists prohibited topics «with no exceptions»: animals, non-consenting parties, «persons under the age of 18», celebrities, real people who could be identified, family members «including step-family», and gore. Consensual non-consent is allowed only when existing consent is made clear. The guide also asks writers not to use AI to compose stories. Reading is free, but Reddit shows NSFW communities only to signed-in users who confirmed they are 18 or older, and the posts are checked by volunteer moderators, not by an editor. Reddit does not let our server open its pages, so the status line says «behind bot protection»; we read the rules through a mirror on 2 October 2026.
Our rating is 3.7 out of 5: one of the strictest rule sets among free story communities and a very active audience, but it needs a Reddit account and quality depends on each author.
