Our review of Tappytoon
What Tappytoon is: an official publisher of Korean webtoons and novels
Tappytoon publishes licensed translations of Korean comics and web novels; the page title calls the service «Official English». The home page has tabs for Popular, New, Completed and Time Till Free, and genre filters named Steamy, BL, Romance, Action, GL and Fantasy. The adult part of the catalogue is what the site calls «steamy»: series marked «[Steamy]» and «[Uncut]» editions that exist next to an all-ages version of the same title.
How the mature mode opens
According to the support centre, steamy comics are available only on the website and the mobile website, not in the apps, because of Apple and Google store rules. To read them a visitor logs in, confirms being 18 or older, taps the «All-ages» button in the upper right corner and selects «mature mode». Chapters unlocked in the web version then appear in the Library in the app as well. The steamy and the all-ages versions of a series are unlocked separately: chapters bought in one version do not carry over to the other.
Payment: points, Time Till Free and Tappytoon Club
Episodes are unlocked with points, the currency of the service. The help pages name Google Play, Apple Pay and PayPal as payment methods, PayPal on the web only, and a Free Points page where points are earned by watching video ads or completing partner offers. Time Till Free opens the next episode of a marked series at no cost once every 24 hours; that episode locks again after a limited period. Tappytoon Club is a monthly membership with point discounts, bonus points and shorter waiting times; it is started and cancelled in the app or through the app stores. Point prices are shown after login and were not seen on 3 October 2026. Under the terms all purchases are final.
Apps, languages and operator
The site links an iOS app on the App Store and an Android app on Google Play. Besides English there are German and French editions at /de and /fr, and the support centre is offered in the same three languages. The Terms of Service, effective 26 May 2026, name Contents First, Inc as the operating company, set 16 as the minimum age for the service and send disputes to arbitration in Seoul under Korean law. An account can be deleted by its owner in the settings; the unlock history is erased with it.

Why are steamy comics missing in the Tappytoon app?
The support centre explains that, because of Apple and Google store policies, steamy comics are available only on the website and mobile website. Chapters unlocked there are stored in the Library and can be opened from the app too.
How does Time Till Free work on Tappytoon?
On series marked with a green clock icon the next episode becomes free once every 24 hours or another stated period. Episodes are read in order, the free episode locks again later, and points unlock it at once and for good.
How to delete a Tappytoon account?
The help page describes self-deletion: in the app under More, Settings, Delete Account, and on the web in the account menu after login. Deletion is immediate and erases the purchase and unlock history.
